Alex is a seasoned litigator with over 19 years of experience representing clients in state and federal court, as well as at various administrative agencies. She began her career as a clerk at the D.C. Court of Appeals before practicing at a boutique Boston law firm for nine years, where she split her practice between employment counseling and litigation and criminal defense. She then joined a mid-sized firm, where she continued to practice employment litigation before opening her own firm in 2014, which she maintained until she joined Paik Deal as a partner in 2020.

Alex represents clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters including disputes between businesses, disputes between members of closely held corporations, and employment-related disputes. She reviews and drafts workplace policies and is a trained workplace investigator who has conducted numerous internal investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, and other unlawful conduct. Alex’s clients include biotech companies, construction companies, restaurants, and managers and executives. She also serves as Civil Litigation Counsel to the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, where she has litigated several issues of first impression and established tribal court precedent.

In addition, Alex has extensive experience handling criminal matters, as well as disputes related to allegations of misconduct at public and private high schools, colleges, and universities.

Alex is also an accomplished appellate attorney. She has briefed, argued, and won cases at the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the Supreme Judicial Court, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the Mashpee Wampanoag Supreme Court.

Alex is a graduate of Cornell University (2000, with distinction) and Boston College Law School (2004, cum laude). She was named by Massachusetts Super Lawyers as a Rising Star every year between 2009 and 2018 and was selected as a Super Lawyer in 2019, 2020 and 2021. She was also named a “Top Lawyer” in civil litigation by Boston Magazine in 2021. She serves on the Board of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association, with which she has been actively involved since 2008.

Alex is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Court.
